Yarn Bowls

Lovely Phillis brought in a fresh crop of gorgeous yarn bowls this morning - both large and smaller sizes

She brought plenty with our signature sheep design

as well as some new ones

Exclusive to Crazy for Ewe, these bowls are really well crafted - heavy and sturdy, with an extremely smooth, heavily glazed finish.  It is the artwork, however, that makes these bowls truly spectacular.  Phyllis is a classically trained artist with an MFA in ceramics.  She has studied in China to learn the techniques that made Ming Dynasty so delicately beautiful, and her work shows both her skill and her unique interpretation of the ancient Chinese aesthetic.

Phyllis works from her studio right in beautiful Charles County, and knits at Crazy for Ewe in La Plata, of course.   You can see more of her work at her website here.

  1. Wow, ok you just taught me something here! I never heard of "yarn bowls" before! Sad, but true! Thank you for that tid bit. And if I may say so, they look so cute, my favorite was the one with the sheep.
